Daffodils School, Silchar was founded by Late Nirmalendu Dey on 31st January 1994 in his residential campus Malugram Silchar-2 to ensure a liberal and enlightened education to the younger generation and to enable them to keep pace with the ever advancing spirit of the age. Though vast changes in all spheres have taken place to keep pace with changing times, the essence of Daffodils has never changed.
Late Nirmalendu Dey, the founder of the school was a great visionary who could feel the need of English medium school in this part of the town (Silchar). He set up this institution to fulfill the aspirations of the people in educating their children. What began as sapling under his patronizing care in 1994 has grown up to day into a flourishing institution. The school is rapidly progressing as a center of excellence in the academic sphere.
At present the school is run by a trust, Daffodils Educational Trust, Silchar, through a school managing committee formed with representatives of guardians and teachers and the members of Founder-Donor’s family as per the guideline of “Assam non-Govt. Education Institutions” regulation and management Act 2008, Govt. of Assam.
The School follows the courses of the Secondary Education Board of Assam (SEBA). Daffodils School, Silchar is a co-educational English medium school totally committed to quality education and striving for excellence in all-round development of the school. The Principal of the school Mr. SubrataDey a man of great learning has built up this school with the co-operation of teachers and his dedication and enterprise has paid rich dividends. The school has achieved great distinction in the academic fields both in curricular and co-curricular activities and it is acclaimed as one of the best English medium schools in Barak Valley.
